Women’s safety: MP CM writes to Shah

Bhopal, June 17 (UNI) With the crucial objective of preventing crime against women and children; the Madhya Pradesh dispensation has proposed a set-up comprising investigating officers, legal advisors, prosecutors and counsellors apart from Deoxyribonucleic Acid laboratories and mobile forensic teams, it was officially learnt on Monday.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath has written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah apprising him of the government’s intention and seeking budgetary support of Rs 880 crore.
“Offences against women and children comprise a sensitive issue. The regime stands committed to stringently deal with unlawful acts against that category. For this initiative, the Centre’s support is urgently required. Establishment of a cell is imperative for checking crimes, procurement of investigating equipment, reorganisation of mounted troops and the dog squad. This will require technically skilled manpower, patrolling vehicles and office buildings,” the Chief Minister wrote.
