Women cricket: Harmanpreet Kaur to lead India in T20 World Cup

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) Harmanpreet Kaur has been selected to lead the Indian side for the next month Women T20 World Cup starting from November 9 to November 24 in West Indies, BCCI said in a statement on Friday.
While wicket-keeper Smriti Mandhana has been named Kaur's Deputy (vice captain).
India are placed in Group B along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Ireland in the 10-team tournament, which kicks off with the match between India and New Zealand in Guyana, it added.
India will take on their arch-rivals Pakistan in their second match on November 11 in Guyana.
The All-India Women’s Selection Committee has picked the Indian Women’s Cricket Team for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Twenty20 2018.
Former captain Mithali Raj and Jemimah Rodrigues, both played brilliant cricket in the recently concluded 5 T20I series against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, also made it into the 15-member squad.
The Indian bowling department looking good with the presence of turners such as Deepti Sharma, Poonam Yadav and among other turners.
While pace attack will be looked after by Mansi Joshi, Arundhati Reddy and Pooja Vastrakar.
