Women: A time to celebrate

New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) Geneva-based Centre for Reproductive Rights stated on Sunday that the referendum result in favour of repeal of the Irish constitutional prohibition on abortion has enabled women the world over to draw renewed comfort and encouragement that law reform is possible
and that significant change to safeguard women’s health and rights can be achieved.
The Irish people voted by a resounding majority on Saturday to remove the constitutional prohibition and enable lawmakers to legislate on abortion and bring about long-awaited reforms.
