Woman remanded to police custody for baby's murder in Nashik

Nashik, Jul 18 (UNI) A young woman was on Thursday remanded to three days police custody by a local court for killing her 14-month-old daughter here recently.The accused, Yogita Mukush Pawar (26), who lived in Sai Paradise building on Aurangabad road in Adgaon Shivar, slit the throat of her baby by a blade and later attacked herself with the same blade, in a purported attack by a robber on Tuesday. Thereafter, Yogita took her daughter to a private hospital, but doctors declared the baby girl brought dead and later admitted her for treatment.After receiving information about incident, police rushed to the spot and later took the statement of the woman, however, her statement and the facts in the case did not tally. So, police searched the house of Yogita and during which, they found some evidence there. On Wednesday, police arrested the accused woman and today produced her before the local court,which remanded her to police custody for three days. Police are now investigating the case to ascertain the motive behind the murder, sources added.
