Woman farmer ends life amid bank loan pressure in Maha's Chandrapur

Nagpur, Nov 7 (UNI) A 68-year-old woman farmer allegedly died by suicide following alleged harassment and pressure from a bank over loan repayment, police said on Friday. The incident was reported from Naiknagar, Chandanwahi in Rajura taluka of Maharashtra's Chandrapur district.
The deceased has been identified as Yashoda Abaji Rathod, a resident of Naiknagar.
Police said Yashoda had taken an agricultural loan from the Gadchandur branch of the Central Cooperative Bank several years ago. The bank had reportedly been urging her to clear the dues, and officials had visited her residence multiple times demanding repayment.
