Woman among two dead in car-tanker collision

Thane, Nov 12 (UNI) Two persons, including a woman, were reportedly killed and other two sustained serious injuries on Tuesday when the tourist car, in which they were travelling, collided head-on with a gas tanker on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway.
The victims are yet to be identified, however, among the two, one was the car driver, told police.
The car, a vehicle registered in Rajasthan, met with the fatal accident around 0830 hrs today at Asangaon village of this district, stated police.
According to police, the tourist car was in the shambles post accident hence a crane was pressed into service to pullout the injured and the dead.
The duo injured have been admitted at the Sahapur rural hospital while the dead bodies were sent for post-mortem, apprised police.
Process is underway to register offence into the case, added police.

Mah: 80 pc police to be deployed during 9-day Janta curfew in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Jul 9 (UNI) Aurangabad City Police Commissioner Chiranjeev Prasad on Thursday said that eighty per cent police personnel and officers will be on the streets during the nine-day Janta curfew being imposed from 0000 hours tonight to curb the spread of corona.
He said that along with police force, SRPF platoon will assist the local police.

Meanwhile, taking a serious view of the recent episode at the Covid hospital here, Thane Mayor Naresh Mhaske has written a strongly worded letter to the Municipal Commissioner Dr Vipin Sharma, and demanded for strong action including suspension of those responsible for the same (mix-up of bodies).
