Woman among 2 booked for attempt to kidnap 2 school girls in Thane

Thane, Jan 24 (UNI) Two unidentified people, including a woman, have been booked by the Rural Police on the charge of allegedly attempting to kidnap two school girls, both aged 11, from near a school in Mira Road town of the district.
The Naya Nagar police in Mira Road have booked the two under sections 363 and 504 read with 34 of Indian Penal Code, police said and informed that no arrest has been made so far.
On January 22, the two girls, both class IV students in a Convent school, were walking on the road to get an autorickshaw to return home after the school at around 1700 hours.
At that time, a ‘burqa’ clad woman came there in a car and pulled both the girls in the car, which was driven by a man who had covered his face with a mask.

When the girls raised an alarm, the woman whipped out a knife and threatened them to shut up or else they would be killed.
Undeterred, one of the girls bit the woman and as the car slowed down, the girls opened the door, jumped out of the car and ran for their lives.
The masked man chased them for a while, but soon gave up upon seeing the crowd on the street.
Later, upon enquiry, the girls came to know that they were in Virar and they called their parents from a borrowed mobile phone.
Then, the girls along with their parents approached the Virar police, who directed them to the Naya Nagar police station, where the complaint was registered on Thursday.
Further investigation was underway, sources added.
