Without GST documents Arecanut transporting vehicles seized

Belagavi, Sep 14 (UNI) Central GST and Central Excise commissionerate Belagavi intercept seven vehicles Transporting Arecanut worth approximately Seven crore without any GST Documents on Tuesday.
According to Assistant commissionerate (Preventive)CGST & Central Excise Belagavi press release, Based on specific information received from DGGI Mangaluru Zonal unit, The Officers of Central GST Belagavi swiftly swung into action and seized seven vehicles transporting arecanut towards Ahmadabad and Delhi.

Up on the enquiry, it was noticed that the said conveyances were carrying Arecanuts and moving without proper GST documents on Hubballi-Navalagund road, release said.
The department officials intercepted the seven vehicle carrying the arecanut.
The value of goods is said to be around Rs.7 crore (Approximately) vide a press release issued by the Commissioner of Central Tax.
The seized product commonly known as 'supari' is used for making pan masala, sweet supari and also used as raw material on pan leaf the press release said.
The purchases were made from area around Shivamogga the press release said. Arecanut attracts Five percent GST.
All seven vehicles along with goods are taken in to custody and further investigations are in progress, release said.
