With advent of digital technology, short films with exceptional content coming out in large number: Vinod Ganatra

Panaji, Nov 22 (UNI) Vinod Ganatra, director, producer and Jury Chairman of Non Feature Films of the 49th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), has said that with the advent of digital technology, short films with exceptional content were coming out in large number.
Addressing a press conference during the 49th International Film Festival of India (IFF) here on Wednesday, he, however, pointed out that ensuring quality was the biggest challenge for film makers as 'with a mobile phone in hand, everybody has now become a film maker'.
He said that while amateur films could be hits but it was a dangerous trend that such films were increasing.
The Chairman said that in an age of decreasing attention spans, short films were going to take over feature films in a short time as many filmmakers were coming forward with beautiful content that were able to powerfully connect with audiences.
Two-thirds of the non-feature movies were short films, he said, adding short films were very much helpful for those who wanted to get in to the system of film making.
He advised young film makers not no compromise on script which held the key for making a good film.
The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is underway here and will conclude on November 28, 2018.
