Panaji, Jul 18 (UNI) Former Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, who was appointed Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly recently, on Thursday said he would coordinate with all the opposition parties in taking on the government.
Speaking to reporters at Assembly complex at Porvorim, near the city, Mr Kamat, who represents Margao constituency in the assembly, said,'I am thankful to my colleagues and party president Rahul Gandhi. It is a challenging job for me. As a largest group, it is responsibility of my party to coordinate with all other opposition parties.'
Mr Kamat, who was Chief Minister of Goa from 2007 to 2012, was appointed Leader of the Opposition as former Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar left Congress party along with nine other rebel MLAs and joined ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
