Widespread Hindu dharma prachara by TTD commences with Gita Jayanthi : TTD Chairman

Tirumala, Dec 7 (UNI) The wide spread activities to protect, preserve and propagate Sanatana Hindu Dharma Prachara by TTD commences with the event of Gita Jayanthi, said TTD Trust Board Chairman YV Subba Reddy here on Saturday.
Addressing at the Gita Jayanthi fete held at SV HS Grounds here wherein nearly 10 thousand students from various colleges of TTD participated in community Gita Parayana, Reddy said that Gita Jayanthi is observed as the day on which Lord Krishna taught Arjuna the importance of life by the way of 700 slokas.
We want to give this essence to the next gen as the students should learn the importance of ethical life narrated by Gitacharya in Bhagavat Gita, he said we have organised this massive programme with the collaboration of HDPP wing of TTD with ISKCON and other like minded spiritual organisations.
We want to slam down the alleged false propaganda of evangelical activities in TTD by some vested interests by taking up unique spiritual Hindu Dharmic programmes on a grand scale", the Chairman added.
Later TTD Ex-officio member Dr C Bhaskar Reddy said that by learning Gita one could lead a pious life.
Joint Executive Officer P Basant Kumar appreciated the interest shown by the parents and teachers in motivating their students to learn the slokas in Bhagavat Gita.
The Temple City which woke up to an incessant rain on Saturday sizzled to the rhythmic rendition of Bhagavat Gita slokas by thousands of students.
Braving rains, the students reached the SV HS Grounds in a rally and presented slokas with utmost devotion.
Earlier, the program commenced with the chanting of Govinda Namas by Bhajan team of Satya Sai Seva Organisation lead by Sreedhar and Phanirangasai.
The Pontiff of Pushpagiri Mutt of YSR Kadapa district, Vidyashankara Bharati Theertha Swamy said, Bhagavat Gita shows a human how to lead a righteous life.
"Our Hindu Sanatana Dharma has thousands of scriptures. Just by reading the verses in Bhagavat Gita is equal to mastering all scriptures and one will be free from all his sins and attains salvation", he added.
Anupamananda Maharaj, the Chief of Sri Ramakrishna Seva Samiti, Tirupati said, awakening the inner soul in every human is possible only through Gita Parayana and this was explained by Swamy Vivekananda in the form of phrases so that the essence of Gita could easily reach a lay man also, he maintained.
