Talking about proposed Krishna Vally Marathwada Irrigation project which upon completion will provide rightful drinking water for backward Marathwada region, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the government has allotted Rs 800 crore for expediting the the project works and the remaining Rs 2,200 crore will be made available through NABARD to complete the project early.
On the recent controversy over issue of killing of alleged man-eater tigress 'Avani' in Yawatmal district, Mr Fadnavis defended his cabinet colleague Sudhir Mungattiwar and said some hard decisions had to be taken according to the situation.
"The government will conduct an inquiry into the killing of tigress and if anything wrong is found in it, suitable action will be taken against the guilty," he added.
