West Bengal to join cooperative ‘Bharat Taxi’ network, says Amit Shah

Kolkata, Jul 19 (UNI) With an aim to transform taxi drivers into vehicle owners and stakeholders in the platform instead of remaining commission-paying service providers, union Home and Cooperation minister Amit Shah today announced that the Centre's cooperative-based "Bharat Taxi" initiative will be rolled out in West Bengal.
Speaking at a function in Kolkata, he said a memorandum of understanding (MoU) had been signed on Sunday to facilitate the introduction of the Bharat Taxi model in the state.
"We have entered into an agreement with Bharat Taxi with the objective of ensuring that the taxi driver becomes the owner of the vehicle," Shah said.

IFFCO Paradip holds ammonia leak mock drill

Bhubaneswar, Aug 19 (UNI) IFFCO’s Paradip unit on Wednesday conducted a full-scale on-site emergency mock drill to assess its preparedness and strengthen coordinated response mechanisms for handling potential industrial emergencies.
The exercise was based on a simulated leakage of liquid ammonia from an eight-inch transfer pipeline connecting the ammonia storage area to the DAP plant.
