Weather turns pleasant after temperature dips due to snowfall in upper reaches of Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 16 (UNI) Weather turned pleasant on Sunday after temperature recorded considerable drop due to snowfall on upper reaches and moderate to heavy rain in the Kashmir valley, where normal life was affected due to strong winds and moderate to heavy rain.
Isolated light rain and thundershowers would occur at isolated places in the Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours. However, during the subsequent two days the weather will remain dry, a Met department spokesperson told UNI.
Sun was out on Sunday providing a much needed relief to people in the Kashmir valley, where higher reaches had experienced light to moderate snowfall resulting in drop in the mercury. The maximum temperature in the Kashmir valley was recorded below normal between 4.3 to 10.2 degree Celsius The highest drop of 10.2 degree was recorded in world famous ski resort of Gulmarg where the upper heights received light to moderate snowfall. The minimum temperature was two degree, nine notches below normal.
