We will play on front foot in UP: Rahul Gandhi

Lucknow, Feb 11 (UNI) Addressing party workers and the huge crowd that gathered at the Lalbagh area here, Congress President Rahul Gandhi started his brief speech by reiterating his 'chowkidar chor hai' jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Standing on a car's rooftop, beside his sister and AICC General Secretary for Eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mr Gandhi alleged that the PM had stolen money from UP, other states and the Air Force.
Roping in the Rafale issue yet again, while referring to a media report, Mr Gandhi alleged that 'parallel negotiations' had been done, adding that 'anti-corruption clauses' had been removed by the PM.
Furthering his allegations, Mr Gandhi said that a profit of Rs 30,000 crore had been provided to Chairman of Reliance Industries Anil Ambani.
Hailing UP, he said the state was the 'center' or 'heart' of the nation.
Mr Gandhi said that he had put Ms Priyanka and Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia as In-Charges of the state and asked them to fight against the 'years of injustice' prevailing in UP.
Giving greater significance to the state, he said that apart from the Lok Sabha, the party's major goal was to form a Congress party government in the UP Vidhan Sabha.
He asserted that Priyanka, Mr Scindia and he himself will not rest, until a government for the poor, youth and the farmers, is formed in the state.
Ending his note by thanking the party workers and the Lucknow public for extending a warm welcome, Mr Gandhi said the party would play on the 'forefront' and not on the 'backfoot.'
