We never bow to terror; current NSA handed over Masood Azhar at Kandahar: Rahul

New Delhi, Mar 11 (UNI) Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s charge that the previous UPA government was soft on terror, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that the Pulwama attack mastermind Jaish-e-Mohammad's Chief Masood Azhar was released by the BJP-led NDA government in 1999.
Addressing a Congress booth level workers conference here, Mr Gandhi said, “Jaish-e-Mohammad carried out the Pulwama attack in which 44 jawans were killed. It was current NSA Ajit Doval who handed over Masood Azhar at Kandahar. The BJP released Masood Azhar.”
“The Congress never bows before terror. We have lost two prime ministers in fighting terrorism,” the Congress president added.
He also attacked the prime minister for holding a meeting with China amidst the Doklam standoff.
“When Doklam issue was on, the Prime Minister went to China and held a meeting without an agenda. He bowed before China with folded hands and said keep Doklam and that no one in India will come to know. Media will be tackled. Matter is over. This is the reality of Modiji,” said Mr Gandhi.
Attacking the PM over the Rafale deal with the French government, he said, “The Chowkidar spoke for over 1.5 hours in Parliament and he did not mention Anil Ambani even once.”
Attacking the NDA for failure to create jobs, he said, “The prime minister had promised for 2 crore jobs every year and in the night he announced demonetization.”
He also charged the government of waiving off of Rs 3.5 lakh crore of 15 industrialists which is equal to the amount allocated to MNREGA for a year.
Enthusing confidence in booth level workers, the Congress chief said, “If we come into power, we will give a minimum income guarantee to all. A minimum income level would be decided and if anyone would get below of it, the government will bear the gap amount.”
He was referring to minimum income guarantee scheme and said if the Congress government comes in power it will implement it.
