We are the ones to beat : Jarmanpreet Singh on India’s edge over Australia

Bengaluru, Apr 18 (UNI) Indian hockey defender Jarmanpreet Singh combined confidence about India’s growing dominance over Australia men's national field hockey team with broader insights into fitness, mindset and team culture, as he addressed a gathering ahead of the TCS World 10K Bengaluru.
Calling Australia the toughest opponent historically, Singh asserted that India has begun to overturn that narrative. “Earlier, Australia used to be the hardest team for us. But now we have changed that momentum by beating them multiple times. We feel that now we are the tough side,” he said, signalling a strong psychological shift within the squad.
Beyond the rivalry, Singh reflected on how his Olympic experience shaped him as an athlete. He said competing at the Games taught him how to remain physically and mentally strong under sustained pressure, with each match bringing fresh challenges that demand consistency and composure.
