WCD Ministry signs MoU with AYUSH Ministry to set up herbal gardens, impart yoga

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) The Women and Child Development (WCD) Ministry on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with AYUSH ministry for developing a Nutrigarden in each anganwadi and to teach women and children yoga.
The MoU will help the two ministries to work together to control the menace of malnutrition through the integration of AYUSH systems with the ongoing nutrition interventions, under the umbrella ICDS programme.
Describing the MoU between the two ministries as a 'milestone in the efforts to eradicate malnutrition,' WCD Minister Smriti Irani said along with the target of having a Nutrigarden in each anganwadi, medicinal gardens will also be developed in identified anganwadi centres.
