WBSEDCL gets SKOCH Award for hydel project in Purulia

Kolkata, Dec 18 (UNI) After winning the IPPAI Power Awards, given by the Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI), on November 24, the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has won another prestigious award – the SKOCH Silver Award, in the ‘Energy’ category.
WBSEDCL won the award for its Purulia Pumped Storage Project (PPSP), a 900 megawatt (MW) hydel-power project – the same project for which it won the IPPAI Power Award.
The State electricity distribution company has also been conferred the SKOCH Order of Merit for qualifying among the top 20 energy projects in the country.
