Wasnik calls for PCC delegates convention on economic slow down

Puducherry, Sep 17(UNI) AICC general secretary in charge of Puducherry Mukhul Wasnik on Tuesday called up on the Pradesh Congress Committee to organise a delegates convention on the economic slow down in the country to make the people here understand its magnitude.
Addressing the extended PCC executive meeting here, Mr Wasnik said when the country is facing an unprecedented economic slow down and the government claiming progress and development.
Unemployment is rising,those who were in employment were losing their jobs and just in automobile sector,20 per cent of the jobs has been lost in one year,he further said.
In this situation the Prime Minister is talking about the five million dollar economy which requires 12 per cent growth in the GDP which has come down to a mere five per cent.
''We have to make people aware of the exact position and then put pressure on the government so that they can take timely remedial action, which will help come out of the situation'',Mr Wasnik asserted.
Stating that the agricultural sector has come down to a mere two per cent and farmers were going through miserable conditions, Mr Wasnik affirmed that the congress should have educational programmes in every districts and blocks on this subject.
