War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,875

Bhopal, Oct 24 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ rose to 2,875 on Saturday in Madhya Pradesh where 20 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 1,66,298 with 1,004 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 31,695 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 11,477. Indore continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 271 fresh instances; Bhopal 191; Jabalpur 61; Gwalior 53; Betul 35; Sagar 27; Balaghat 24; Ratlam 19; Anuppur 18; Hoshangabad, Vidisha, Rajgarh and Satna 17 each; Ujjain 16; Rewa, Mandsaur and Raisen 15 each; Singrauli 13; Harda 12; etc. An encouraging development was that Tikamgarh, Burhanpur and Dindori did not record new patients.
