Kozhikode, Aug 8 (UNI) Union Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday said that one should not go in for any conclusions on the causes of Air India Express flight accident at Calicut International Airport in Karipur on Friday night but has to wait for the investigations by the DGCA and revelations available from the black boxes which is to be scrutinised."
Addressing the media conference here at the airport premises on Saturday, the Minister said the 'revelations from the investigations would give lessons for us to correct and streamline operational lapses', if any.
Paying homage to the departed souls and thanking the almighty for restricting the damage, the Minister thanked all the volunteers and officials who carried out the rescue operations swiftly and ensured all possible medical attention to the injured.
Declining reports on alleged infrastructural flaws and capabilities of the crew, he said 'the pilot was a 'veteran' and had landed the flights in Karipur Airport as many as 27 times'.
Union Minister of State for Foreign Affairs V Muraleedharan was among those who were present at the conference.
Earlier, Mr Puri visited the accident spot.
