New Delhi, Aug 15 (UNI) Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla attended the 'At Home' reception, hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday evening, on the occasion of 74th Independence Day.
In the wake of Novel Coronavirus pandemic, only select Cabinet Ministers, dignitaries from the Judiciary, bureaucrats and diplomats had been invited to attend the ceremony, organised at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, with social distancing norms.
Defence Ministry Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh and Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, among others, attended the function.
Earlier this morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag and delivered the customary address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort to mark the 74th Independence Day.
