Vodafone Idea appoints Abhijit Kishore as new CEO

New Delhi, Aug 14 ( UNI) Telecom major Vodafone Idea has appointed Abhijit Kishore as the new CEO, as per the information given in an exchange filing by the company today.
Currently, Kishore is serving as the Chief Operating Officer of the company. Before this role, Kishore was associated with the enterprise business of the telecom major.
"Mr. Abhijit Kishore has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and key managerial personnel of the company for the period of 3 (three) years, effective from 19 August, 2025. The appointment is necessitated due to Mr. Akshaya Moondra ceasing to be the Chief Executive Officer upon completion of his term of 3 years, which is ending on close of business hours on 18 August 2025," Vodafone added in the exchange filing.
Kishore has extensive experience in the telecom sector. He contributed majorly in the 4G launch as a Circle Business Head for Gujarat and Kerala circles.
Kishore was appointed as CEO amidst Vodafone facing troubles due to heavy debt burdens, intense competition and regulatory issues.

Rama Rao (KTR) regarding the alleged disappearance of nearly 40 lakh metric tonnes of coal worth around Rs ₹1,600 crore, clarifying that the company had only 26.51 lakh tonnes (2.651 million tonnes) of coal stock as of June 4, 2026.
