Violence in Ghazipur Jail: Case against 12 prisoners

Ghazipur, Jan 22 (UNI) Twelve prisoners lodged in Ghazipur Jail were booked under appropriate sections for involvement in arson and resentment to violence after they made the security guard hostage, Jail Superintendent said here today.
According to police, the violence erupted in Ghazipur Jail yesterday, when District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police raided district jail yesterday where they found objectionable items.
Following that raid, some prisoners showed their agitation and soon after the raid they started stone pelting, and also burnt official documents, damaged CCTV cameras and burnt store room.
