Vini Mahajan directs for comprehensive time-bound action plan for implementation of reforms proposals

Chandigarh, Dec 10 (UNI) Underscoring the need to focus on district level business reforms, Punjab Industries and Commerce and Investment Promotion Additional Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan on Tuesday directed for evolving a time bound action-plan for implementation of all the reforms already implemented at the state level.
Chairing a meeting after the conclusion of a state level workshop held under her chairmanship here at MGSIPA on Tuesday, Ms Mahajan said that based upon the implementation of these reforms, each district would be ranked based upon the feedback of users.
Reiterating that the Ease of Doing Business is a core priority area for the state government, she said that it is one of the core pillars in the Punjab Industrial and Business Development Policy, 2017 reinforced by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh during the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit 2019 held last week.
Expressing satisfaction at the progress, she said that led by the Department of Industries and Commerce and with the support of 14 departments and agencies, state has been able to implement all 187 reform points shared by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
DPIIT has shared a District Level Business Action Reforms Plan covering 218 recommendations under 08 Reform Areas of Starting a Business, Urban Local Body, Land Reform Enabler, Land Administration and Property Registration Enablers, Obtaining Approval for Construction, Paying Taxes, Miscellaneous, Grievance Redressal/ Paperless Courts and Law & Order. 18 Departments are expected to implement these Reforms.
During the workshop, Project Manager Girdhari Lal explained the modalities of implementation of District level Business Reform Action Plan to the participants. The workshop was held to sensitise the concerned departments about the reforms proposals, and they have been asked to present comprehensive strategy in this regard, the spokesperson revealed.
