New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) After Karnataka, Maharashtra stormed into the semi-finals of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy after beating Mumbai by seven wickets in the second Quarter-finals of the day at the Palam Cricket ground here on Wednesday.
Maharashtra chased down the meagre 223-run target with ease in 46.5 overs losing just three wickets to book their semifinal berth.
After losing opener Ruturaj Gaikwad (12) at just 18 runs, Shrikant Mundhe (70 off 95 balls) fortified Maharashtra's innings with a 117-run partnership for the second wicket with skipper Rahul Tripathi (49 off 73). With the duo being dismissed in the 30th over with Maharashtra at 135 runs, Ankit Bawne and Naushad Shaikh shared a 89-run stand to guide their side home with ease.
