Vigilance nabs patwari for accepting bribe

Chandigarh, Jun 21 (UNI) Vigilance Bureau nabbed Patwari Harjit Singh for accepting bribe of Rs 5,000.
An official spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said that Jagtar Singh, resident of Village Bihla of district Barnala, had shops on the Barnala-Moga road that are acquired under extension of road. Patwari Harjit Singh posted at revenue circle Tallewal-A has demanded bribe of Rs 10,000 to provide compensation for shops and land.
He said that on the complaint of Mr Jagtar Singh, a trap was laid by the Vigilance Bureau and accused Patwari Harjit Singh was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 as advance.
