Vice-President exhorts NGOs to work in skill development domain

New Delhi, Oct 7, (UNI) Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday exhorted the NGOs and voluntary bodies to step up their activities in the area of skill development to meet the growing demand of vocational training and enable youths to find gainful employment. Speaking at an award distribution ceremony organised by an NGO Krishna Foundation here, Mr Naidu said while the governments were doing their best to overcome the challenges on various fronts, the efforts of NGOs and voluntary organisations will go a long way in supplementing the measures taken by the governments. Lauding the role of NGOs, the Vice-President said the NGOs all over the country were working dedicatedly in different sectors. “For a country as large and as populous as India, more such dedicated organisations should step into the arena of social service,” he added. The Vice-President said that organisations like the Krishna Foundation can make a meaningful difference to the lives of the poor and downtrodden. UNI JPG RSA 2019
