Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrives in Mizoram on maiden visit, to attend MZU convocation

Aizawl, Mar 6 (UNI) Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Mizoram on Friday afternoon on his maiden visit to the state after assuming office. He is scheduled to attend the 20th Convocation of Mizoram University (MZU) as the chief guest on Saturday.
The Vice President landed at Lengpui Airport where he was received by Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), School Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana and senior government officials. A ceremonial guard of honour was also accorded to him at the airport.
After arriving in Aizawl, the Vice President proceeded to Lok Bhavan where he was formally welcomed by the Governor along with Chief Minister Lalduhoma, Home Minister K. Sapdanga, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister C. Lalsawivunga and other senior dignitaries.

Two shot dead in Manipur's Ukhrul

Ukhrul (Manipur), Apr 18 (UNI) In fresh violence in Manipur’s Ukhrul district, two persons were shot dead along National Highway-202 today, triggering renewed tension in the area.
According to preliminary inputs, the victims were ambushed by suspected Kuki militants while travelling along the Imphal–Ukhrul road.
