Vibrant Goa conducts successful road shows in Nepal and Bhutan

Panaji, Sep 13 (UNI) Vibrant Goa teams successfully conducted two separate tours to Nepal and Bhutan recently with the aim of promoting the Vibrant Goa-Global Expo and Summit (VG-GES) 2019 which is scheduled to be held in Goa between October 17-19 this year.
In Nepal, the Vibrant Goa team met with representatives of the Nepal Tourism Board, Hotel Association of Nepal, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Society of Nepalese Architecture and the Film Development Board. Opportunities were also realized in the pharmaceutical and fisheries sector.
Milind Anvekar, Vibrant Goa core team member, who was part of the Vibrant Goa team that visited Nepal, said the Vibrant Goa delegation made presentations about Vibrant Goa and the potential business opportunities that could be explored in the areas of tourism, cultural heritage and architecture, textiles, information technology, imports and exports.
According to Mr Anvekar, besides the presentation, the team had very positive meetings with the Nepal Tourism Board, Hotel Association of Nepal, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Society of Nepalese Architecture and the Film Development Board. Opportunities were also realized in the pharmaceutical and fisheries sector.
Impressed with the Vibrant Goa International Road show concept, Nepal which is preparing for their ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ initiative, has asked the Vibrant Goa team to help them with their international promotions.
Mr Anvekar said, “Nepal is planning a film city of its own and would like to visit Goa for any possible collaboration and potential MoUs with the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) to promote a Nepal Film Festival in India.”
The Nepal Chamber of Commerce has also expressed interest in signing MoUs with the Goa Chamber of Commerce. Nepal is also planning on having smart cities and is looking for partnerships and technology exchange opportunities in that sector.
Besides meeting senior Nepali government officials, the Vibrant Goa team also met with the Manjeev Singh Puri, Ambassador of India in Nepal and K P Singh, Head of Commerce at the Indian Embassy.
The Vibrant Goa team to Nepal comprised Rita Mody Joshi, Arman Bankley, Gautam Kharangate and Milind Anvekar.
In a similar fashion, a two-member Vibrant Goa team comprising Rajkumar Kamat and Ajay Gramopadhye also toured Bhutan to spread the message of the Vibrant Goa-Global Expo and Summit (VG-GES) 2019.
According to Mr Gramopadhye, a comprehensive road show meeting was held at the India House, which is the Embassy of India in Thimphu. Forty two Bhutanese business persons, association heads and various other organisation representatives attended the meeting. The Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and industries was the key coordinator for the event. Phub Zham, President of the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, promised to send a trade delegation to Goa to attend the VG-GES 2019.
Mr Gramopadhye said Ms Kamboj, Ambassador of India in Bhutan, had agreed to support the Bhutan trade delegation going to Goa. “We are therefore looking at a good number of participants coming from Bhutan to attend the Vibrant Goa summit,” Mr Gramopadhye said.
