VFS encouraging new business ideas & entrepreneurship

Kolkata, Sep 14 (UNI) Dr. Kuldeep Maity, MD & CEO, VFS, was being invited as a jury
panellist during the final round of pitching and showcasing of business ideas in Y4BIZ
(Youth For Business) Program Finale recently.
This initiative in collaboration with the American Center, Kolkata and Nexus Incubator;
New Delhi is supporting promising and early stage entrepreneurs from eastern India to
develop their business ideas.
Y4BIZ’s is created with a goal to create an ecosystem for nurturing entrepreneurship
and encouraging youth to take it as their preferred career and life choices.
Promising entrepreneurs, selected through an on-line business idea contest from
West Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand and Bihar were taken through a specially designed
online capacity building program run by the IC² Institute, University of Texas, Austin
followed by a business skill development program delivered by ‘The Strategy Academy’.
A 4 day long residential boot camp was held in May 2018 and 15 participants were
shortlisted for the Y4BIZ Program Finale. The business ideas include technology
enabled services, health and education, food, lifestyle, energy and others.
The participants were awarded on basis of the most promising business idea, the
most innovative business idea and the most impactful business idea
The US general consulate was also one of the Jury members with Dr Kuldip Maity.
The US general consulate has appreciated & acknowledged the contribution and
work that VFS have made in rural India.
