Veteran journalist Jayanta Sarkar passes away

Kolkata, May 24 (UNI) Veteran journalist Jayanta Sarkar passed away in the early hours of Friday at his residence in South Kolkata.
Sarkar was 88.
He is survived by his wife and daughter.
Sarkar was the Founder Editor of Business Standard and Resident Editor of Economic Times, Kolkata.
He was India Correspondent of The Far Eastern Economic Review and regularly contributed to Mcgraw Hill Publications, Depth News and other foreign news media.
The veteran journalist also groomed many economic and business journalists of Eastern India and was renowned in the area of Economic journalism.
Press Club, Kolkata, sent its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
