Veteran actor Tom Alter dies of skin cancer

Mumbai, Sept 30 (UNI) Veteran actor and Padmashree awardee Tom Alter has passed away after battling with skin cancer at his residence here.
Alter passed away on Friday night, family sources said.
He was 67.
Alter is survived by his wife Carol, son Jamie, and daughter Afshaan.
A statement released on behalf of his family said, 'It is with sadness we announce the death of Tom Alter, actor, writer, director, Padma Shri, and our dear husband and father.
" Born on June 22, 1950 in Mussorie, Alter had also penned three books.
