Pune, Jun 16 (UNI) The southwest monsoon further advanced into the remaining parts of northeast Bay of Bengal, some more parts of northwest Bay of Bengal, as well as remaining parts of North East and some eastern parts of India.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall was likely at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Chhattisgarh.
High to very high sea conditions were likely over the northeast Arabian Sea as well as adjoining areas of northwest and central Arabian Sea, whereas rough to very rough sea condition was likely over parts of east central Arabian Sea.
Rough to very rough sea condition was very likely along and off the Gujarat coast till June 17. Fishermen were advised not to venture into north and east central parts of Arabian Sea, along and off Gujarat coast, till June 17.
Gale winds with speed of the order 105-115 km ph gusting to 130 km ph were very likely over the northeast Arabian Sea, as well as adjoining areas of northwest and central Arabian Sea.
Strong winds with speed of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 km ph were very likely along and off Gujarat coast, whereas strong winds with speed of 35-45 kmph were very likely over the southwest Arabian Sea off Somalia coast, along and off coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and in remaining parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
They were appreciably above normal in some parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, west Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka,Kerala and in remaining parts of west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh,and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
They were below normal in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat Region and in remaining parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Saurashtra and Kutch, and were appreciably below normal in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, as well as Saurashtra and Kutch.
Day temperatures were normal over rest of the country. The highest maximum temperature recorded over the plains was 46.4 degree Celsius in Sultanpur of east Uttar Pradesh.
Heat waves swept across many places in Vidarbha and in isolated pockets of west Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
Thunderstorm, along with hail and gusty winds, was very likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east and west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
Dust storm, along with gusty winds with speed 30-40 kmph, were very likely at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and west Rajasthan.
Heat waves to severe heat waves were very likely in isolated pockets of Bihar, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal and Marathwada.
Rain or thundershowers occurred at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkm, Odisha, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan and Goa, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Punjab, east and west Rajasthan, east and west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
