Vehicular traffic hampers on Rohtang Pass after snowfall

Shimla, Nov 16 (UNI) Frequent snowfall on the 13050-foot high Rohtang Pass, also called the gateway to Lahaul Spiti district, hampered the vehicular traffic on Thursday as the Kullu district administration allowed only couple of vehicles to cross the snowy pass.
Manali SDM H R Bairwa said Rohtang Pass was snowing for past 24 hrs and recorded nearly 40 cm snowfall. It was closed for the vehicular traffic. No tourist vehicles were allowed to cross the police post Gulaba except couple of local vehicles those want to cross the Lahaul Valley.
Mercury went up in minus on the Pass and snowfall had become slippery for plying of vehicles. Moreover Keylong, headquarters of tribal district experienced 5 to 6 centimeter snowfall on Thursday.
