Veena Manavi cries foul after nomination rejected

Patna, July 14 (UNI) Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) candidate Veena Manavi alleged on Tuesday that her nomination for the Bankipur Assembly by-election was rejected as part of a "well-planned conspiracy" and announced that she would challenge the decision through legal means.
Addressing media persons, Manavi claimed that she was arrested on the day of filing her nomination in connection with an old complaint case, leaving her under stress and with limited time to complete the nomination process. She said the circumstances resulted in certain errors in her nomination papers.
According to Manavi, she was asked to rectify the discrepancies during the scrutiny process before 11 a.m. on Tuesday. She alleged that she was misled during the correction process. One of her proposers, Ruby Kumari, could not be verified, prompting election officials to ask her to submit the name of a new proposer. While making the change, she said, the signature of another proposer was inadvertently omitted, a lapse she claimed was not pointed out to her by officials.
