Varsity FIR: Cong slams RS Member

Bhopal, Apr 20 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee returned fire on Saturday at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Rajya Sabha Member Rakesh Sinha by alleging that he was accusing the state dispensation of tarnishing the image of and politicising the city-based Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in an attempt to protect himself and those accused of financial irregularities at that academic institution.
“The fact is that the erstwhile vice chancellor (VC) and those associated with him misused their offices. Mr Sinha is jittery in the wake of a first information report being registered and that is why he had to hold a press conference here. He has forgotten that a VC has been appointed through a committee in accordance with law. Former VC Jagdish Upasane was also thus selected,” Congress state President Kamal Nath’s Media Coordinator Narendra Saluja said in a statement.
