Vajpayee responding well to treatment, likely to make full recovery in next few days: AIIMS

New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) Former Prime MInister Atal Behari Vajpayee, who is admitted to the All India Institute for Medical Sciences for a urinary tract treatment, has shown significant improvement in last 48 hrs and is likely to make full recovery in next few days, doctors at the hospital said on Wednesday,

'Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee has shown significant improvement in last 48 hrs. His kidney function has improved with good urine output. His blood pressure, heart rate & breathing are normal. They're being maintained without support. We are hopeful he'll make full recovery in next few days,'AIIMS said in the latest bulletin on health of the former Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, a steady stream of high-profile visitors called on the ailing politician to enquire about his

condition. Former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh and H D Deve Gowda had earlier visited AIIMS to enquire about Mr Vajpayee's health.

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and Congress president Rahul Gandhi had visited the former Prime Minister.

Mr Vajpayee was on Monday admitted to AIIMS for a routine check up.
