UV rays to fight COVID in public places

UV rays to fight COVID in public places

New Delhi, Jul 3 (UNI) Driven by health and safety compliance norms during the Novel Coronavirus times, a Delhi-based organisation has come up with a novel Ultra-Violet Transmitting (UVT) Conveyor, which can kill 99.99 per cent of all kinds of viruses, bacteria and other pathogens present on different surfaces.

'In a bid to strengthen our defence against the COVID-19 pandemic in public spaces like malls, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, schools, colleges, apart from office and residential complexes,' the company, MSV-India Inc, said in a statement here.

The organistation, which aims to find comprehensive and sustainable solution for businesses, said the UVT Conveyor uses UV Disinfection Lamps that emit UV-C rays.

As proven by many Medical research groups across the globe, these UV-C rays can effectively kill up to 99.99 per cent of Novel Coronavirus strains, it added.

The use of UV-C in disinfecting medical equipment is also recommended by the Centre of Disease Control and Prevention, US.

'While there are plenty of ways to sanitise our hands and bodies, there is rarely any mechanism that can safely and efficiently sanitise our everyday objects, without causing damage to them. Unfortunately, this means using more of disposable stuff.

'While on one hand, we are saving ourselves from getting infected, but at the same time, we are putting ourselves in another bigger risk, which already is a huge concern for all the environmentalists.

'The best thing about this revolutionary solution is that UV-C technology does not leave any harmful residues after the sanitisation process. It's safe to use as there are no spots on absorbent materials like fabrics, paper, cardboard and office files.

'It's safe for food items like vegetables, fruits, water and even milk, and can be used to increase their shelf-life as well, which makes it an asset for the packaging industry as well,' the statement added.

The machine does not require any chemicals or other consumables to function, so there's no need for continuous refilling. The only parts that might require replacement are the UV-C Lamps, and they have a very long life (5000 hours), it said.

Furthermore, the machine offers 360 degree and totally contactless disinfection, thus, eliminating any harmful after effects, it added.

The best advantage of UV-C disinfection is that it kills not only the virus strains on various surfaces of the objects, but also those that might be present in the air inside the disinfection chamber.

'As it has been scientifically proven that the virus easily spreads via surfaces of objects, we began working on developing a device that could disinfect those surfaces, without damaging the objects.

I am proud to say that our UVT Conveyor is a 100 per cent 'Made in India' product, and it's our contribution to the dream of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. Every component used in the machine has been sourced and manufactured in India," said Vandana Vinayak, Founder of MSV-India Inc.

'We are well-renowned in the field of UV Technology and have been working in this field for the last 25 years.

The organisation's mission is to create innovative and comprehensive solutions, ensuring sustainability and our responsibility towards Mother Earth,' she added.
