New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today ordered an inquiry to ascertain the cause of accident of the Utkal Express near Khatauli station and also warned of “strict action in case of any lapse”. Mr Prabhu terming the incident “unfortunate” in a series of tweets said, “Have ordered inquiry to ascertain the cause. Strict action will be taken against any lapse”. “I am personally monitoring situation. Hv instructed senior officers to reach site immediately and ensure speedy rescue and relief operations. Have instructed Chairman Rly Board, Member Traffic to oversee rescue and relief operations,” Mr Prabhu said. He said he was in touch with the Chief Minister’s Office in Uttar Pradesh, state government officials and district administration to coordinate in the rescue and relief operations. UNI report from Lucknow quoting ADG (Railway) V K Maurya said five passengers were killed and over 50 injured when the Haridwar bound Kalinga -Utkal Express derailed near Khatauli station at around 1750 hrs.
