US to provide Rs 50-billion for sustainable development of Nepal

Kathmandu, Sept 14 (UNI) US Deputy Secretary of State and Nepali Finance Minister will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Washington for Rs 50-billion grant to Nepal.
Nepali Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki is in Washington to sign the MoU on behalf of the Nepal Government. The US side is being represented by the Deputy Secretary of State John J Sullivan.
According to the MoU, a fund of around Rs 63-billion will be set up, to which the Nepal Government is expected to contribute around Rs 13-billion. Rest of the money (Rs 50-billion) will come from the US Government.
