US to expand partnerships in Indo-Pacific, counter China

Washington, Jan 20 (UNI) The US will expand alliances and partnerships in the Indo-Pacific to build a "networked" security architecture to ensure free access to common domains like sea routes and deter aggression and maintain stability in the region.
"A free and open Indo-Pacific region provides prosperity and security for all ... With key countries in the region, we will bring together bilateral and multilateral security relationships to preserve the free and open international system," said the US National Defence Startegy, "Sharpening the American Military’s Competitive Edge", released on Friday.
The Pentagon said mutually beneficial alliances and partnerships are crucial to its strategy, providing a durable, asymmetric strategic advantage that no competitor or rival can match.

Palestinian death toll in Gaza rises to 33,843

Gaza, April 16 (UNI) The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced Tuesday that the Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 33,843.

The ministry said in a press statement that 46 people were killed and 110 others injured in five Israeli raids during the past 24 hours.
