US to ban app downloads of TikTok and WeChat within 48 hours

Washington, Sept 18 (UNI) US authorities said on Friday that TikTok and WeChat will be banned from US app stores from Sunday, unless President Donald Trump agrees to a last-minute deal.
According to the Department of Commerce the new order will prevent people in the US from downloading the messaging and video-sharing apps through any app store on any platform, a BBC report said.
President Trump has accused of both the companies of being a threat to US national security, saying that they are passing user data to China, a charge denied by both China as well as both the companies.
