Uproar in LS as Congress seeks removal of remarks against Sonia, Rahul
New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) The Lok Sabha witnessed uproar when Leader of the Congress M Mallikarjun Kharge today demanded expunction of ''derogatory remarks'' made by BJP member Anurag Thakur against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi during the debate on JNU in the House. Raising the issue, Mr Kharge said, '' Remarks made on RSS and Godse were expunged from Congress member Jyotiraditya Scindia's speech during the discussion on JNU row under Rule 353. ''I request that the remarks made against the Congress President and Vice-President by the BJP member, describing them as anti-nationals, should also be removed from the records under the rule 353,'' the Congress leader said. Mr Kharge's demand led to uproar in the House. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said it was her prerogative to look into the issue. Mr Thakur, meanwhile, raised the issue of former Home Minister P Chidambaram's statement about the Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and former Home Secretary GK Pillai's claims on the Ishrat Jahan encounter. The BJP member said the former home secretary has made it very clear that the affidavit concerning Ishrat Jahan was changed at a ''political level''. Again, there were noisy protests in the House. The BJP member said he has given a notice to the Speaker to raise the issue. UNI NY RP AS1403
