Lucknow, Jun 5 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee(UPCC) will start a 'Seva Satyagrah' for the release of state party unit president Ajay Kumar Lallu.
Congress Legislature party leader Aradhana Mishra on Friday here told the media that party state president Ajay Kumar Lallu was in the district jail since May 20. His only fault was that he wanted to help the workers.
The anti-poor, anti-worker government led by Yogi Adityanath put him in jail but the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would not be able to stop our service work, she averred.
The Congress workers would distribute food to 25 lakh needy people in the whole state with the slogan of 'Congress ka sipahi, mazdooro ka bhai', she added.
Congress leader Imran Masood said that the party would operate a 'maharasoi' in the name of Ajay Lallu in every district of the state during the 'Seva Satyagrah' and distribute food to 25 lakh needy people while complying with social distancing.
Congress leader and former minister RK Chaudhary claimed that over 90 lakh people were provided food in the whole state under the leadership of Mr Lallu. More than 10 lakh people were extended help outside the state.
'We converted our offices in 11 districts into community kitchens. Stalls were put up for people who were walking on roads. All of this took place under the leadership of our leader, Mr Lallu', he said.
