UP: Two die, one injured after explosion in casting furnace

Agra (UP), Feb 20 (UNI) Two workers were killed and one more was seriously injured in an explosion in the furnace of a casting factory in Kotwali area of Agra district here in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place in Namak ki Mandi locality where an explosion took place due to gas leakage in a silver plant in Mahal complex. "The explosion created chaos in the area and the shopkeepers pulled down their shutters," they said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Suraj Rai said that three workers sustained serious injuries after they came into contact with fire while melting silver. "The injured were sent to the hospital of which two died. The deceased have been identified as Ravi and Akash," he said.
