UP tops in vaccination of cattle for Lumpy virus

Lucknow, Nov 29 (UNI) In a major achievement for Uttar Pradesh government the state has emerged as the first in the country to administer 1.58 crore vaccine doses to the cattle of the state for the Lumpy Virus disease in less than two months.
A government spokesman said on Tuesday that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's initiative has also controlled the spread of the virus successfully, setting the state almost free of the virus, whereas the virus continues to claim lives of cattle in different parts of the country.
It may be noted that CM Yogi formed Team-9 in the first week of August, taking serious note of the symptoms of Lumpy skin disease in cattle in other states, for effective monitoring of vaccination.
