UP: Three gets lifer in gangrape case in Deoria

Deoria (UP), Mar 20 (UNI) Three persons were sentenced to life imprisonment along with penalty by a local court here on Monday on charges for forcibly marrying a minor girl, assault and gangrape, prosecution said here.
Special Public Prosecutor Sachidanand Rai said that on December 2, 2013 Prabhakar Chaubey and Saurabh Chaubey alias Daisy enticed a 14-year-old girl on pretext of meeting with her father. "The accused took the girl to Avinash Chaubey's house in Padrauna in Kushinagar district and raped her," he said.
He said that the victim's father lodged a complaint at Rampur Karkhana police station on december 4, 2013. "After hearing both the sides Additional Sessions Judge (Pocso) Rakesh Patel held the accused guilty of marrying the minor girl, assaulting her and gangrape. The court said that there was no ground to sympathize with the three accused," he said.
