UP: SP leader booked under Gangster Act in Pratapgarh

Pratapgarh, Sep 16 (UNI) Samajwadi Party district president Chavinath Yadav, who is currently lodged in the district jail here for forcibly claiming possession on a Dalit woman's land and thrashing her family members, has been booked under the Gangster Act, police said on Wednesday.
Chavinath Yadav has 22 criminal cases registered against him at the Kunda and Manikpur police stations.
As per the police, Gayatri Devi of the Bulakipur village, had furnished a written complaint at Manikpur police station on Sep 10 stating that Chavinath Yadav came to her house along with three of his aides and started claiming possession of her land forcibly.
